N
o doubt, 2019 has been a whirlwind year for all of us. (We can’t be the only ones feeling that way, right?!) The holidays usually present us with a little bit of down time, so we encourage you to use this time wisely. Celebrate what you’ve accomplished this year and look ahead to what you want to create in 2020!
As accountants and high achievers, most of us focus all our time and energy on getting to the next thing – the next project, the next goal, the next milestone. Then, when we finally finish that project or reach that goal or milestone, we zoom right by it and move on to the next one. We forget to slow down and acknowledge where we’ve been.
When we’re so focused on moving forward, we miss out on the opportunity to celebrate the awesome things we’ve accomplished and all the joy, satisfaction and fulfillment that comes with them! We also miss out on an incredible learning opportunity. Each leg of our journey is ripe with lessons, if we just pause for a moment to find them. When we slow down and reflect on what we’ve learned, we can move forward with a little less struggle and striving and a bit more ease and grace.
To access the Dimension of Possible, it’s important to make the time to celebrate our wins and moments of growth! After all, if we’re not learning from and enjoying this life journey, what’s the point?
The 21-Day Vision Quest is a great way to dream big and set your intentions for 2020. Many of us kicked off our Vision Quest journey on Thanksgiving Day, but if you missed it, it’s never too late to start dreaming! We dare you to take the plunge and dream big!
Whether or not you choose to join the 21-Day Vision Quest movement, we highly encourage you to make the most of this holiday season. Block out some time on your calendar that’s just for YOU to celebrate the end of 2019 and welcome 2020! Get comfortable with some holiday music, warm beverages, cozy socks or whatever strikes your fancy, and reflect on the following questions.
Reflecting on and wrapping up 2019:
- What are my biggest celebrations for 2019? What am I most proud of?
- What were the biggest challenges I faced in 2019? How did I move past them?
- What were the most important things I learned about myself in 2019?
Looking ahead to 2020:
- What life lessons am I taking with me into 2020?
- What am I most looking forward to in 2020?
- What area of my life do I most want to develop in 2020?
- When I look back on 2020 this time next year, what do I want to be celebrating?
We can’t wait to see what you come up with, and we’ll be celebrating, learning and dreaming right along with you!
See you in the DoP (Dimension of Possible),
